Germany's forthcoming d-you digital wallet will draw on tools developed in the construction sector when it goes live on January 2, 2027. Lindner Group, a launch partner for the initiative, is preparing its inGo subcontractor management platform to connect with the wallet through the European Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet framework. The integration will enable workers and subcontractors to submit verified digital certificates directly, eliminating the need to repeatedly supply the same information and cutting administrative burden.

inGo, created by Lindner subsidiary tibe.io, already operates across hundreds of construction sites. The mobile application consolidates documents, certificates and legal requirements in a single location, replacing paper credentials with QR codes and sending alerts when certifications near expiry. Lindner currently has more than 850 subcontractors and 1,200 projects using the system.

At a Berlin partner meeting on September 9, Lindner Managing Director Martin Weber explained the app's origins in practical construction needs. "That's exactly where inGo was developed," he stated. "The mobile app brings together all documents, certificates, and legal requirements in one central place." Weber also signalled ambitions beyond construction: "Looking ahead, the technology behind inGo is intended to be used not only in construction but in other industries as well."

The d-you wallet itself will function as Germany's implementation of the EU-wide EUDI Wallet framework, allowing residents to store and access digital versions of identity documents, driving licences and other official papers on their phones. The service launches with roughly 40 partners drawn from business, research and government administration. Available functions will include age verification, legally binding digital contracts and remote bank account opening. The wallet will be free to use, voluntary to adopt, and compliant with EU technical standards, with user data held encrypted on devices rather than stored in cloud infrastructure.
