Privacy policy

This policy covers the Continental Brief website and newsletter. The short version: we collect very little, we sell nothing, and everything we hold about you is yours to inspect or delete.

What we collect

• Newsletter subscribers: your email address and the timestamps of your subscription and confirmation. Nothing else.
• Website readers: aggregate, cookieless analytics: which pages are read and from which country. We cannot identify you from it and we do not try.
• Correspondents: if you write to us, we keep the correspondence for as long as the story it concerns may need it.

Cookies

The site sets one cookie-like value: your choice in the cookie banner, stored in your own browser. Declining changes nothing about how the site works, because there is nothing to decline into.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold. Write to editor@continentalbrief.org and we will answer within thirty days, usually much faster. You may also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, though we would rather fix the problem first.
