NAISS administers yearly calls for LUMI Sweden allocations. The Fall 2026 round is accepting applications until 16 October 2026 at 15.00 CEST, with the allocation period running from 1 January 2027 for 12 months.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must demonstrate a proven history of deploying high-performance computing effectively in their research, with computing needs that go beyond what the NAISS Medium application rounds can provide. The principal investigator bears full responsibility for the proposal and any resources awarded.
Candidates must hold at least an assistant professor position at an eligible Swedish institution. Since NAISS receives funding from Swedish taxpayers to advance research and science in Sweden, the principal investigator must maintain a minimum 60 percent appointment at a Swedish university or research institution recognised by the Swedish Research Council.
The research undertaken with these resources must take place primarily in Sweden. During evaluation, this criterion is assessed and may be used to differentiate applications when competition is intense. Furthermore, applicants must have prior experience as a principal investigator on a project that received HPC resources at the Medium level or equivalent internationally.
