Germany marks the initial market for Vodafone's latest network API offering, with the company signalling plans to expand the service to additional territories in due course.
The service is designed to maintain consistent performance during periods of high network congestion, while simultaneously enabling developers to build applications that require dependable, high-speed connectivity.
Through the Quality on Demand API, organisations can select network configurations tailored to their specific requirements, particularly for use cases demanding substantial bandwidth and minimal latency. The system allows businesses to specify their bandwidth requirements and define usage duration.
Vodafone has been piloting the service alongside industry collaborators and a prominent German broadcaster, which tested the technology during a football match. The broadcaster leveraged the network to maintain connectivity for production crews and transmit video content back to the studio.
People use their smartphones to shop, bank, pay for public services and for entertainment services around ten times a day, making a stable mobile connection crucial for businesses that want to build customer loyalty.
