A commercial partnership between Nokia and BeeHealthy will integrate the telecom vendor's Network as Code technology into applications serving healthcare providers and insurers. The collaboration enables BeeHealthy to substitute network-based number verification for SMS one-time passcodes, offering patients faster and more secure access to healthcare services via mobile devices.
The verification mechanism operates silently in the background, completing in under a second without requiring users to input any codes, according to Nokia. This marks BeeHealthy's position as Nokia's inaugural commercial customer for Network as Code within the healthcare industry.
Beyond the immediate healthcare application, the arrangement signals fresh commercial opportunities for mobile operators to embed network APIs directly into consumer-facing applications. Shkumbin Hamiti, Nokia's VP of Network Monetisation Platform, stated: "This collaboration shows how Network as Code turns network capabilities into commercial services that create value across the ecosystem – for enterprises, for the operators whose networks power them, and now for a regulated industry like healthcare, which places rigorous demands on security, privacy, and trust."
Hamiti further noted that "this is a model that is equally applicable across other sectors, from finance and mobility to digital commerce."
BeeHealthy CEO Oskari Eskola emphasized the dual benefits of the integration: "Digital healthcare depends on making access both simple and secure. By integrating Nokia's network-based verification into our platform, we can give customers a faster, more seamless experience while strengthening trust for the providers and insurers we serve."
