Hayo, which specializes in network technology and digital infrastructure, has begun offering voice, messaging and digital solutions throughout Rwanda. The platform serves telecommunications operators, private enterprises and state institutions, providing access to services including National Mobile Registry (NMR) deployment, IoT connectivity, eSIM platforms, messaging capabilities and cross-border voice services.

Rwanda's digital connectivity has expanded dramatically in recent years. Internet penetration reached 34.2% of the population in 2023, up from just 8% in 2012, according to data from the WTO and World Bank.

The company intends to strengthen Rwanda's digital infrastructure through customized solutions spanning mobile networks, government technology, Internet of Things, cloud services and related sectors. Hayo plans to hire local personnel and establish partnerships with regional operators and commercial entities.

Hayo maintains operations across more than 30 nations, supporting over 100 mobile operators and a worldwide network encompassing more than 500 business partners. The Rwanda entry represents a continuation of its African expansion, with Senegal scheduled for Q1 2026, while Botswana, Liberia and Malawi are targeted for 2025.

Boaz Yaya, Director of Operator Relations at Hayo, emphasized the company's commitment to understanding local market dynamics. Hayo unveiled an eSIM platform offering white-label options that enable mobile operators to expand roaming revenue streams, accelerate service delivery and enhance operational performance. During Q1 2026, the company upgraded its NMR platform with fraud detection and mobile device theft prevention features, strengthening government capabilities for managing device imports, safeguarding populations and generating additional public revenue.
