A new professional training initiative for Ukraine's cybersecurity workforce has entered operational phase, delivering structured programmes to build expertise among the country's security leaders. Established through the EU4Cyber UA project in partnership with the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection (SSSCIP) and e-Governance Academy (eGA), CISO Campus combines hands-on instruction, technical knowledge and collaborative learning among peers.
The platform's inaugural offering concentrated on system security authorisation—the process of verifying that information systems maintain compliance with security standards throughout their lifecycle. A cohort of SSSCIP specialists has already completed this first programme, gaining practical experience in documentation preparation, the authorisation workflow and ongoing compliance monitoring.
Strengthening proficiency in system security authorisation bolsters the resilience of Ukraine's public digital infrastructure while advancing the country's integration with European cybersecurity norms. The curriculum emphasises applied learning, with participants working through realistic scenarios and executing each phase of the authorisation process on simulated environments.
CISO Campus intends to significantly broaden its scope in the coming months. According to Volodymyr Sonko, Chief Operating Officer of CISO Campus, "By the end of the year, we plan to launch new rounds of training for technical specialists, five additional programmes and the CISO Quick Start programme. Training opportunities will also gradually open to professionals from other public authorities and organisations."
The European Union's backing through the EU4CyberUA project enables eGA to support CISO Campus as it scales its offerings and establishes itself as a durable resource for Ukraine's cybersecurity workforce. The initiative forms part of a wider commitment to strengthening Ukraine's cybersecurity capabilities and fostering a mature professional community across the sector.
