BOOKR, an educational technology company based in Hungary, has completed a €6.1 million Series A funding round. The round was led by TCEE Fund IV, with advisory support from 3TS Capital Partners, and drew backing from both international and strategic investors. The deal structure encompassed primary capital injection, secondary equity purchases, and conversion of prior financial instruments into equity stakes.

The company develops digital platforms designed to support reading comprehension, language acquisition, and literacy development in children. Its core mission centers on enabling young learners to read with deeper understanding and engage meaningfully with information.

BOOKR Class represents the company's flagship school offering—a learning management system that furnishes educators and pupils with a suite of instructional materials. The platform combines interactive digital texts with practice exercises tailored for students, alongside administrative and pedagogical tools for classroom use.

The next generation will not compete with AI on speed. They will need to compete on depth: comprehension, curiosity, judgement and the ability to ask better questions. This investment allows BOOKR to build the learning infrastructure behind those capabilities, and to take it to millions more children around the world.

Current market position

BOOKR currently serves more than 600,000 paying students across over 3,000 schools operating in more than 30 countries. While English language instruction forms its primary market segment, the platform also delivers coursework in German and Hungarian.

The company's content library encompasses an extensive collection of interactive digital texts aligned with school curricula, supplemented by more than 50,000 distinct learning exercises. Its reach spans educational institutions and learners throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.

BOOKR reported approximately $2.7 million in annual revenue. The company has earned recognition through a Bett Award nomination, a prestigious international competition honoring educational technology innovation, and has demonstrated measurable educational impact according to UNICEF's EdTech assessment standards.

Investment details and backers

Beyond 3TS Capital Partners' involvement, the investor syndicate includes Leib Lurie, who co-founded and previously led the American literacy organization Kids Read Now; Robert Iskander, who serves as chairman and CEO of SchoolDay; Infinit Capital Oy, a Finnish investment vehicle controlled by the Kopponen family; and Hungarian entrepreneur Albert Sarospataki, CEO of Billingo, who participated via his angel investment network FusionWise.

The capital infusion will enable BOOKR to deepen its presence in Asian, Middle Eastern, European, and American markets through enhanced partnership arrangements and distribution channels. The company intends to introduce two new product offerings: BOOKR Next, targeting learners between ages 10 and 18, and BOOKR Phonics, an eight-stage curriculum of decodable texts designed to strengthen foundational reading skills.

Additionally, BOOKR plans to roll out its Teacher Dashboard and Speaking Studio across international markets and to continue funding research that measures correlations between platform engagement and measurable learning outcomes.

BOOKR pairs outstanding content and rigorous pedagogy with something few companies from our region achieve: a genuinely international business. Through established partner networks across markets including Turkey, the UAE, Jordan and China, it has built a geographically diversified revenue base rather than depending on a single home market. That proven cross-border traction positions BOOKR to help define how literacy and language learning evolve in the AI era.
