VodafoneThree has now extended its mobile network infrastructure at London Gatwick Airport, delivering quicker data transmission and clearer voice communications across the facility. The upgrade targets the airport's substantial passenger volume—over 43 million travellers annually—seeking improved connectivity during their journeys.
Vodafone had already established dedicated mobile coverage spanning both terminals back in 2022. The latest phase leverages Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) technology, permitting Three's customer base to tap into Vodafone's infrastructure without incurring extra charges following the two carriers' combination.
This shared infrastructure approach enables travellers to experience smoother video playback, accelerated file transfers and steadier connectivity for voice calls and messaging before departure. Both airport terminals now feature dedicated Vodafone 5G+ capacity, formally designated as 5G Standalone (5G SA).
The Gatwick initiative represents one component of VodafoneThree's broader infrastructure spending strategy, initiated following the June 2025 consolidation of Vodafone UK and Three UK operations.
