BT has deepened its working relationship with Microsoft, introducing a new managed security offering aimed at defending UK enterprises and government bodies from increasingly sophisticated AI-driven cyber attacks.

The telecoms firm unveiled a Security Operations Centre-as-a-Service (SOCaaS) platform centred on Microsoft Sentinel. This UK-based managed service enables organisations to identify and address security incidents faster while simplifying and reducing the expense of security operations management.

The announcement arrives as Microsoft's Digital Defense Report 2026 documents that vulnerabilities now face exploitation in well under 24 hours from discovery. BT disclosed it deflects approximately four million cyber-attack attempts daily and will leverage its network knowledge and security operations capabilities to underpin the new offering.

AI is transforming the cyber threat landscape at unprecedented speed, and our customers need protection that stays one step ahead. By extending our partnership with Microsoft, we're combining cutting-edge security technology with BT's cyber expertise and threat intelligence to deliver stronger, more proactive protection. It's the latest example of how we're helping organisations build resilience and defend against the next generation of AI-powered threats.
