VEON has entered into a 10-year partnership with Amdocs focused on upgrading its IT infrastructure and broadening digital and AI offerings throughout Eurasia. Under the agreement, Amdocs will take on responsibility for managing and modernising VEON's foundational IT operations, with the goal of driving operational improvements and controlling expenditures across the decade-long relationship.
The arrangement includes integration of technology from QazCode into Amdocs' aOS platform, an artificial intelligence-driven operating system purpose-built for telecommunications providers. Digital and AI services have become increasingly significant for VEON, now representing approximately 27% of its overall revenue.
VEON CEO Kaan Terzioglu commented on the collaboration: "Our strategic partnership with Amdocs creates a strong foundation to keep improving people's lives through digital and AI innovation over the next decade."
Anthony Goonetilleke, Amdocs Group President for New Growth Horizons, characterised VEON as a forward-thinking operator in the sector. He stated: "VEON is one of the most ambitious digital operators in our industry, and exactly the kind of partner we built aOS, the agentic operating system specialised for telco, for."
Goonetilleke elaborated on the partnership's scope: "With aOS, Amdocs will help transform VEON's operations, customer experiences and digital services through verticalised, telco-specific AI, advancing its evolution toward intelligent agentic autonomy. VEON's trust in Amdocs to lead this journey reflects our shared ambition to shape the next era of the digital operator."
The deal also strengthens Amdocs' footprint in the region. According to Goonetilleke: "This agreement also expands Amdocs' presence in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the wider Eurasia region, where we see significant opportunity."
